Women’s Empowerment and Workers' Rights in a Post-Pandemic World

As we look towards the end of pandemic phase of Covid-19, the labour market will have changed in many significant ways. In addition to the impact of pathogens on the world of work, other mega-drivers of change are accelerating these fundamental shifts: innovation, digitization, demographics and climate change.

However, there is a urgent need for key interventions to promote workforce development and address the needs of workers, in close cooperation with employers, that will generate benefits to these groups society as a whole.

How can workers, particularly women, be empowered through skills development, the provision of childcare, and having a voice and representation at work? How do we strengthen the capacity of democratic institutions, like workers organisations, and encourage social dialogue in all its forms to build an inclusive society that looks ahead to empower women workers?
