When to use ad hoc and when to use periodic employee evaluation?

An Ad-hoc evaluation method is a single assessment, whereas a Periodic evaluation method is a continuous cycle of evaluations.

As an example, let’s set up an impromptu evaluation for one of our employee Fiona Gallar using the Ad-hoc evaluation method.

Visit evaluation templates, click on Add a new evaluation and select the Ad-hoc evaluation template to get started.

Fill in the title, the Send Date and the Evaluation Period. Next, select Fiona’s name, and pick the appropriate evaluators. Click ‘Choose from all available result areas’to search and include the company core values for this evaluation.
Select the due date, click on the save button, and click confirm to send out the evaluation.

Now let’s set up a periodic quarterly evaluation for our consultants team. Visit evaluation templates, click on Add a new evaluation and select the Periodic evaluation template.

Fill in the title, the first send date and set the repeat interval to every three months. Next, select the team name, and pick the appropriate evaluator levels. Click ‘Choose from all available result areas’to search and include the company core values for this evaluation.
Select the due date, click on the save button, and click confirm to send out the evaluation.

Evaluations can be completed using the link shared in the email, through smart devices or using the web dashboard. Click on start evaluation, select answers as appropriate, leave notes wherever applicable and click on the finish evaluation button to complete the evaluation. The evaluator can now sign the evaluation and send it to someone for signature.
