The U.S. saw record levels of job openings and workers quitting in March.
According to the U.S. Labor Department,... there were 11-point-5 million available positions... up from 11-point-3 million the previous month.
That's the largest number since related data was first recorded in 2000.
The increase in job openings was driven by retail trade and durable goods manufacturing... as employers increased hiring to meet growing demand for goods and services.
A record four-and-a-half million Americans quit their jobs in March.
The figures suggest a tightening labor market that will push wages up.
