Ukrainian emergency workers carefully remove munitions from Chernihiv

Published
UKRAINIAN emergency workers were seen removing munitions from the town of Shestovytsia in the Chernihiv region in footage posted on April 19.

Ukraine’s State Emergency Service said that its staff gathered shells, mortars, grenades, and various ammunition, cleaning parts of the town of potential hazards and warning locals to avoid the woods and areas off sidewalks.

Video released by the agency showed an array of war material littering the ground, against a backdrop of damage in the town.

In addition to abandoned or spent munitions, Russia has left behind banned antipersonnel mines in some parts of the country, according to Human Rights Watch.
