Trudeau extends isolation as Freedom Convoy continues in Ottawa; Trump supports Canadian Truckers

Published
The Freedom Convoy 2022 arrived at Parliament Hill in Ottawa on Saturday January 29th. People from across the country braved the cold and gathered to support the truckers' demands, to repeal the vaccine mandate and other COVID restrictions.

Two days earlier, Justin Trudeau announced that he will be isolating for five days due to exposure to COVID. Today he updated his announcement saying that he tested positive for the virus and will continue to work remotely this week. That means he won't be meeting with protesters. Will the truckers’ demands be heeded?

On the other hand President Trump praised the Canadian truckers. He said that they were bravely defending freedom. Elon Musk also tweeted, “It would appear that the so-called “fringe minority” is actually the government.”
