About the Program
In this webinar, representatives from Legal Aid Society of San Diego’s Low Income Taxpayer Clinic (LITC) will focus on explaining details and interesting facts about the Tax Filing Season for 2022, emphasizing on COVID-19 tax updates related to:
• Key information for filing 2021 taxes
• Selected tax topics: Earned Income Tax Credit, Advanced Child Tax Credit, Economic Impact Payments (3rd Stimulus Check), Unemployment, Plus-up payments, Education, Interest Income and Golden State Stimulus Checks I-II.
• Services provided at our LITC and UIB departments

About the Speakers
Shahin Rahimi is the Supervising Attorney of the Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic (LITC) and Unemployment Insurance Benefits (UIB) departments at Legal Aid Society of San Diego. Prior to working at Legal Aid, he practiced securities litigation. He received his JD from California Western School of Law in 2002 and a BA in Political Science from UC San Diego.

Wendy Romero is the Case Advocate for the UIB/LITC depts. at Legal Aid Society of San Diego, where she educates and advocates for low-income taxpayers. She holds a Master of International Affairs from UC San Diego, and a B.A. in Economics and Political Science from SDSU. She has a passion for teaching, helping, and empowering others to become their best selves with the tools of human capital.
