Published
Labor activist Larry Itliong, along with five others, were recently inducted into the California Hall of Fame. Itliong lived and worked in Stockton and Delano. He formed the Agricultural Workers Organizing Committee in 1954, and helped to organize Filipino grape workers. He later united with Cesar Chavez to form the United Farm Workers Union. Itliong’s daughter, Patty Itliong Serda, and granddaughter, Hailey Serda, sat down with KCRA 3 on Wednesday to speak about their father and grandfather’s contributions to California’s labor movement. See more of what they had to say in the video above.
