Washington State has a great State Parks system. Today I headed to Kitsap Memorial State Park to fill up on fresh water and enjoy the area. Kitsap Memorial State Park sits on the Hood Canal near the Olympic Peninsula.
This State park is one of the smaller parks. But it offers day use as well as camping. Since I was here spending the day, I took advantage of the showers. I haven’t had a real hot shower in over five months, so this one was extra enjoyable.
Then as I was working on a small project, a Ranger came over and told me my Discover Pass was expired. I had just purchased the pass last month at an REI. When the REI employee filled out the pass, he not only made a mistake but had almost indecipherable printing. That led the park Ranger the believe my pass was expired.
Luckily, there was an REI store just 15 minutes away. And they happily exchanged my pass with a new pass with legible writing.
