State of the City 2022 | Northfield, Minnesota

Monday, March 21, Mayor Rhonda Pownell presented the 2022 State of the City Address in the Kracum Performance Hall, Weitz Center for Creativity, Carleton College. Approximately 100 guests attended the event. Live Spanish and ASL interpretation was provided to guests.

The address, paired with video segments, highlighted the status of city work over the past year. Council actions, board and commission work, and city staff delivery of 2021-2024 strategic plan priorities (climate action, diversity, equity, and inclusion, economic vitality, housing availability, quality facilities and service excellence).

Mayor for a Day Essay Contest Award, Board & Commission Member Excellence Award, Ethical Leadership Award, Human Rights Award, Employee Excellence Awards were presented to recipients. 2020 Living Treasure Award recipient Mac Gimse displayed a sculpture and recited his poem entitled "Striving for Peace on Horizon’s Brim."
