This slot has two separate topics:

State of DPDK on Arm architecture: DPDK is the de-facto tool that provides hardware abstraction layer to access packets to/from the network for networking applications and beyond. Arm architecture touches the lives of 70% of the population.

This talk is about the marriage between DPDK and Arm. The talk will provide a brief introduction about DPDK and its novelty. It will provide details about various Arm architecture features that have been enabled in DPDK. As the architecture has evolved, many additional features have been developed in the Arm architecture to benefit DPDK, which will also be touched upon in this talk..

An Introduction to Virtualization on Arm’s new mixed criticality focused Cortex-R82 processor: Arm’s Cortex-R processor profile is synonymous with running determinism sensitive Real-time operating systems. Cortex-R82 is an implementation of the Arm v8-R AArch64 architecture that adds the ability to run rich operating systems like Linux based OS', in addition to traditional RTOS’, by leveraging virtualization. Cortex-R82 supports such mixed criticality compositions without compromising the determinism that RTOS’ need. In this presentation, Wei and Robin will introduce the Arm v8-R AArch64 architecture and explain how Virtualization works on Cortex-R82.
