We hope that by drawing from their experiences, you'll be able to gain some tips and insights to help you with your current / future applications, and your career as a oil and gas professional in general.

Yasir & Muhammad will be sharing their top tips on job applications and how to equip yourself with essential skillsets for your future.

About the speakers

- Yasir Thara is a recent graduate working as a Reservoir Engineer at Wintershall DEA, as part of their graduate SPEAD program. Yasir Thara will be discussing 'how to market yourself in front of an audience,' framing it around the dos and don'ts, tips and tricks for resume writing, cover letters and how to approach job applications. Most of the content will be drawn based on Yasir's experience of finding a role within industry.

- Muhammad Abbas is a Petroleum Engineer at bp, prior to which he worked as a Field Engineer at Baker Hughes. Muhammad Abbas will be discussing the essential skills that we need to lead our life, learn and work. The concept of essential skills is becoming a more important factor in different situations in our lives, be it at a particular workplace as an apprentice/ a full-time worker or in various real-life scenarios. Whilst some skills are gained through academics, most skills are honed through training and working on real-life projects. Potential employers are always on the lookout for these essential skillsets amongst their applicants. This presentation will provide an outline of the 8 essential skills, with real life examples and insights on how they can be applied and tips on how to work on yourself to improve these skills.
