Southwest Airlines has dropped a plan to force unvaccinated employees that have not yet received a religious or medical exemptions to go on unpaid leave. The move follows widespread Southwest flight cancellations, which the company blamed in part on staffing shortages. Airlines, as federal contractors, are expected to follow the Biden Administration's COVID-19 vaccine mandate for all federal employees.
