Soft Skills for Software Developers

Published
Soft Skills is a common term referring to the behaviors that help employees build and keep good relationships with others, assimilate well to a new role, or even improve in their existing one. Additionally, soft skills are the general skills that are applicable across many industries and roles and can help improve the value of all employees. In fact, according to research by Skill Survey, 77% of employers say that soft skills are as important as hard skills for any job role. While this is valuable to the employer or client, it is also important to the employee because they can apply these skills to any career, enabling them to “reinvent” themselves despite a lack of experience in a new industry.

In this Lunch & Learn, Jamie Valentin will discuss the popularity and importance of soft skills to employers and clients, detail some of the common soft skills and clarify some of the reasoning behind why they are important. You'll walk away knowing how to:
Determine between soft and hard skills and their efficacy
