Right to Disconnect Policy Ontario - Alex Lucifero on CTV

Published
The Ontario government is proposing 'Right to Disconnect' legislation that would require businesses with 25 or more employees to create ‘right to disconnect’ policies in place.

Called the Working for Workers Act, Bill 27 would also ban the use of non-compete clauses in the province. Employers use these in an attempt to stop a former employee from working for a competitor, but are rarely enforceable.

Alex Lucifero, an Ottawa employment lawyer and Managing Partner at Samfiru Tumarkin LLP joins Anne-Marie Mediwake on CTV Your Morning to discuss the many aspects of the legislation.
