Perspective: Big Employment Push | 15 June, 2022

In this episode of the Perspective Prog. based on 'Big Employment Push'. We’re going to talk about the government’s mega employment push, ordering the recruitment of 10 lakh people in the next 18 months. As per news reports, the announcement comes following PM Modi’s review meeting two months wherein he suggested that the secretaries of the central government take immediate steps to fill up existing vacancies in the ministries and departments. The prime minister had reportedly stressed that employment should be the focus of all government interventions in public and private sectors. The decision is being seen as an answer to the frequent criticism of the government on the issue of unemployment. Opposition parties and experts have often flagged the issue of the economy not generating enough jobs to cater to the large number of unemployed youth. So will this employment push solve India’s job crisis? How will it contribute to India’s journey of making the youth financially empowered?
