Panel: Responding to and Moving Beyond COVID-19

Published
The COVID-19 pandemic has changed life as we know it, but there is light at the end of the tunnel with new vaccines. In the meantime, people continue to go to work while following CDC guidelines. However, questions abound: How is the workers’ compensation system handling the pandemic? Are we seeing the same health issues and injuries during the pandemic, or have new ones popped up (e.g., mental health)? How is the health care system responding to and treating injured workers (e.g., telehealth)? How is the vaccine going to be distributed, and will more people be allowed to return to work after they get it? In this session, our diverse and distinguished panel discussed these questions and more while pulling from WCRI research, personal experience, and available data.
