OECD Side Session: Confronting the Fashion Industry's Accountability Problem

Published
Hear from global south women trade union leaders & movement lawyers on how they re-envision fashion supply chains to address the pressing issues of wage theft, gender-based violence and harassment, caste violence, informality, and lack of brand accountability.

They will examine how the OECD Due Diligence Guidelines can drive accountability in national laws and in fashion supply chains - especially from brands and investors to marginalized workers. The panel will also explore investors and fashion companies’ responsibilities towards garment workers moving forward from COVID-19.

Co-organized by Asia Floor Wage Alliance (AFWA), Global Labor Justice - International Labor Rights Forum (GLJ-ILRF), Tamil Nadu Textile and Common Labour Union (TTCU), Commercial and Industrial Workers Union (CIWU) and Lembaga Studi & Advokasi Masyarakat (ELSAM).
