New year, new role? Top tips for your job search in 2023

Happy New Year and welcome to 2023!

For many people, New Year is a time for change. This could mean anything from trying a new hobby to exercising more regularly – but what if your key resolution for 2023 is to find a new job?

We know that sometimes it can seem difficult to know where to begin your search. Fear not – this is where we are only too happy to help! Here are some tips we’d like to share to help your potential career change in 2023.

Brushing up
Take some time to refresh your CV and LinkedIn profile. Make sure to optimise both for the kinds of roles you’re looking for in the year ahead and include any pertinent accomplishments from 2022.

Come up with a list of target companies. Get to grips with their backstory and growth strategy, and really think about where you could potentially add value to each organisation.

Reach back out to some connections. Get an update on how they're doing and subtly let them know that you're considering your next steps – you never know what they might hear through the grapevine.

Reach out to recruiters
We couldn’t leave this one out! Be sure to get on recruiters’ radar and let them know that you're looking for a new position. Contact as many as you can; no one recruiter can work with every company, so cast your net as widely as possible. Make sure they're clear about your experience and the types of roles you're interested in.
