Published
In an emergent COVID-19 recovery period, settled trade and investment relations between regions is being considered closely, and expectations are rising quickly for greater respect for human rights in business operations and supply chains. Recently, the EU Commission issued its proposed Directive on corporate sustainability due diligence to strengthen respect for human rights among EU business and partners. But what impact, if any, with the proposed Directive have in Asia? What are some of Asia’s views on the topic?

To clarify these and other issues, UNDP B+HR Asia, in partnership with the European Union, will host a discussion with EU representatives and Asian policy makers and experts to understand the most important features of the proposed directive and how it may shape complementary Environmental and Human Rights Due Diligence (EHRDD) efforts underway in Asia.
