Genesis is arriving in Europe with a bang - it's already unveiled numerous luxury models to battle Audi, BMW and Mercedes, but now it's locking horns with Tesla with a brand new, all-electric model called the GV60. It's a coupe-SUV with the same underpinnings as the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6, with a radical design and an extensive tech suite to tempt buyers from the Tesla Model Y.

The entry level GV60 Premium features a single motor mounted on the rear axle, serving up 225bhp and 350Nm of torque - range stands at 321 miles. The GV60 Sport boasts a 292 mile range, and is fitted with a 215bhp rear motor and a 99bhp front motor to deliver four-wheel drive. Total combined outputs for this powertrain are 314bhp and 605Nm of torque.

As per sister brand Kia with its EV6 GT – and the forthcoming Hyundai Ioniq 5 N – Genesis will also produce GV60 variant with even higher performance, called the Sport Plus. This has total output of 429bhp and the same 605Nm of torque as the Sport model. Thanks to four-wheel drive traction this GV60 will sprint from 0-62mph in a best time of 4.0 seconds, and can travel 290 miles on a single charge. Here's Yousuf Ashraf with the full details.
