Scott Morrison warning Anthony Albanese could appease China if he gets into power just shows the Prime Minister is "so desperate" now he's prepared to say absolutely anything, says former Labor Minister Stephen Conroy.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison warned Australia’s security is “at stake” at the next election and said Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese could “appease” China in the ongoing trade stoush with the global superpower.

"The Prime Minister is now playing politics with one of our most significant and important relationships," Mr Conroy said.
