In Module 4: The Job Market (Employability and Entrepreneurship ) we explore the role of career guidance in helping to improve people’s prospects for finding a job or starting a business. In this Module we will look at job trends including megatrends - globalisation, 4IR, concerns about global warming, pandemics and others. We cover the different work environments - the physical environment be it an office a laboratory as well as the social environment relating to corporate culture. We also look at government policy that impacts the job market - conditions of work and labour laws for the protection of workers. Finally, we get down to the business employability and enterprise development - process where career practitioners help people practically to look for a job, change jobs or create their own job.
