Minimum wage to increase by 5.2 per cent

The Australian Fair Work Commission has announced the minimum wage will increase by 5.2 per cent, following the federal government’s formal submission for an increase in line with inflation last month.

The minimum wage will go to $812.60 a week or $21.38 an hour.

Fair Work Commission President Iain Ross said this level of increase will “protect the real value of the wages of the lowest-paid workers”.
