Fast food giant McDonald's and French carmaker Renault are the latest corporations to announce they're leaving Russia over its invasion of Ukraine. Last month, president Vladimir Putin declared western sanctions had failed, pointing to the recovery of the rouble to pre-war levels after it briefly lost nearly half its value. Steven Hamilton, assistant professor of economics at George Washington University, tells The World there's "no viable future" for the companies in Russia.
