Relax and listen while I read to you. Tonight we will be peeking inside the FBI's Behavioral Science Unit (BSU) to start understanding how serial murderers think. Robert Ressler, the man who coined the term, "serial killer," tells his tale of hunting serial killers for the FBI and how he started the BSU.
In part 1 we start in 1978 with Richard Trenton Chase, Sacramento's notorious, "Vampire Killer." The local police were so disturbed by the murder of Terry Wallin they brought in Ressler to assist them. Ressler had just started using a method that would become the standard in profiling.
