Legal, But Criminalised: What SC's Latest Guidelines Mean For Sex Workers' Rights

In a significant move towards defining and underlining the rights of #sexworkers, the #supremecourt Court on 19 May released new guidelines including directives for the #police to not detain, abuse or raid adult sex workers practicing consensually. Although legal under law, sex workers say criminalisation of activities necessary for sex work such as soliciting, running a brothel and having a clientele makes practicing the profession ‘illegal’.
