Lay-Offs Continue Into 2023, Amazon Cuts Over 18,000 Jobs, Salesforce To Cut 10% Of Its Workforce

Published
Amazon reportedly planned to lay off roughly 10,000 staffers last year, but the company chose to cut thousands of additional employees this month, bringing the total to over 18,000, CEO Andy Jassy said in a message to staff that cited an “uncertain economy”.

Meanwhile, Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff announced plans to cut 10% of its workforce “in the coming weeks” (estimated to affect roughly 7,900 of its 79,000 employees, according to the company) in an email to staff, saying the decision comes amid a “challenging” environment and as customers take a “more measured approach to their purchasing decisions.”
