Job Search Micro-lesson: New LinkedIn Feature - How To Deal With Career Breaks In Your Job Search

Published
Career breaks from work are an effective way for people to deal with life events, and refocus.

LinkedIn is rolling out a new feature this week that will allow people to add career breaks from work. This gives you an opportunity explain gaps in your career during resume updates and get back on track!

Career breaks are an excellent way to recharge and get organized. They can also give you time for self-care, whether that means taking care of your physical health or mental state; plus if there's anything on the horizon in terms of jobs (like changing careers), this break will help prepare yourself!

It's important to be able and ready when it comes time for your next career break. Keep track of all the things you do during an extended leave, from volunteering or taking classes at school up through something as simple like traveling abroad - there are many ways that can help make sure whatever hiatus is coming over feels just right!

To succeed in this competitive environment, you need to stay on top of trends and developments. This can be done by attending industry conferences or engaging with people who work within your field through social media networks like LinkedIn. In addition don't forget that resumé-building is an important part when getting back into the hiring game after time off!

This new feature on LinkedIn is an opportunity for people to share their stories about how the experience has helped them grow and develop skills that are valuable in life or at work. The goal of this space, therefore is not just providing information but rather creating a platform where individuals can articulate what brought on these breaks so we all understand why they matter more than ever before!

To add a career break to your LinkedIn profile, all you need to do is go to the "add section" button under your photo and then pick 'add career break'. Then fill out Information about how long the break was, a description and attach any relevant media items to the experience.

This new feature gives potential employers a more complete picture of who they are.
