Interview with Jennifer Garcia: Worker Rights at Creative Studios
Jennifer Garcia is an artist, engineer, and organizer. She has drawn characters for the Emmy-winning animated show, Archer, been in the trenches of struggle for worker power, and even helped put things in space.
Jennifer spearheaded the effort to unionize Floyd County Productions, the Studio that makes Archer, and although management never officially recognized the union a lot of positive change resulted from that effort. Jennifer also revealed some shocking details about harassment and the mistreatment of creative workers at the studio.
Currently, she is working with several organizations to help people find their voice and realize their power. Those efforts will hopefully come to fruition over the coming weeks, months, and years.
When you see her on major news outlets in the coming few months you can say you saw her here first.
