Do you receive the information you need from healthcare providers, and others, in support of the ADA interactive accommodation process? Employers may seek reasonable documentation after receiving a request for accommodation, but there are no standard ADA forms, and there is no required procedure for gathering this information. This can lead to a “bring me a rock” kind of game when ADA decision makers aren’t exactly sure what information is needed to effectively engage in the interactive process. Employers need practical guidance and resources for collecting disability-related information from appropriate professionals in order to accommodate employees with disabilities. This JAN training will offer practical strategies and resources to effectively obtain disability-related information for ADA purposes.
