'It will do harm': Legislation 'not necessary' to meet climate targets

Shadow Treasurer Angus Taylor says he doesn’t support the climate bill the government is proposing, which legislates Labor’s 2030 and 2050 emissions reduction targets.

“Our position is that we are opposed to it, we don’t believe legislation is necessary to meet climate targets,” Mr Taylor told Sky News Australia.

“Once you impose legislation, you’re giving a platform for activists.

“It’s not necessary, and it will do harm.”
