IT Companies layoffs: Employees forced to resign? | Layoffs | Recession | India | Tamil Nadu

Across the world job cuts are on the rise and India is no exception. Several companies in India have announced layoffs and in the past few months companies like Intel, Wipro, HCL, Byju’s, Unacademy have laid off their employees. In Chennai, an IT company has laid off at least 400 employees and the Union of IT and ITES Employees claim that the employees are forced to resign. TNM’s Senior News Editor Shabbir Ahmed speaks to Alugunambi Welkin, General Secretary of the Union of IT & ITES Employees on what’s happening in the IT industry.
