March 8 marks International Women's Day celebrating the social, economic and political achievements of #women across the world. We also have to mention that women shine at China's #TwoSessions. The proportion of female deputies at the NPC has increased to nearly 25 percent in the last 10 years. President Xi Jinping extended greetings to women ahead of International Women's Day. Women's welfare and interests are part of the basic human rights. Guarantees are needed for women's equality in politics, business, culture and family. In October 1992, China passed a specific law for this. Last year, Chinese lawmakers sent a draft law to the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress to revise the 30-year law on the Protection of Women's Rights and Interests.
