As part of our ongoing coverage in partnership with the Freedom for People + Planet campaign leading up to the UN COP27 climate change conference, BeMagazine.org Co-Founder and Editor-in-Chief Melissa Turner interviewed Missy Crutchfield, Host of GAIA Talks: The Earth Speaks and Vegan, Animal Rights & Human Rights Activist talking on UN COP27 and Climate Change Intersectionality.

Key Question: The United Nations has said that Climate Change is the most serious threat to human rights of our generation, however, if we don't work together across issues to address climate change and ensure we have a healthy planet, human rights is a moot point. How do we embrace intersectionality of issues as we all come together to address climate change and protect our shared home on this planet?

Three main topics we covered during our interview:

1) The UN has said that climate change is one of the greatest threats to human rights of our generation, and recently you have been sharing just how serious this issue is and that if we don't have a healthy planet to live on anymore, then human rights is a moot point. Explain more about the intersection of human rights and climate change and why everyone across the spectrum of activists, politicians, business people, and concerned citizens need to work together like never before on these issues

2) Recently Forbes Magazine featured the plant based food pavilion that will be debuting at the UN COP27 in Egypt. Tell us more about the tipping point we are seeing in your area of passion activism--vegan and animal rights--and how does this connect with and impact other issues like human rights and

3) How can the general public support the larger conversation about human rights in Egypt, as well as the intersection of other issues including the climate change movement and the vegan and animal rights movements? Are there any specific actions that people can take to help raise awareness and support efforts rights that lift up the work of freedom, democracy, human rights, animal rights, and a healthy planet for all?
