How to pay an employee an Advance | ADP Small Business

Do you need to provide an employee with a pay advance? This video will help you through the process using RUN Powered by ADP.

An advance is a loan you can provide to an employee in a time of need. The employee typically pays the advance by having the amount deducted from their future paycheck(s). Before providing an advance, it is recommended to have a policy in place to determine who is eligible, timeline to reimburse you for the advance, and disciplinary actions if the advance is not paid back. Always check your State laws when creating your payroll advance policy.

As an employer, you are not required to provide an advance to an employee. Providing an advance is at the discretion of each business owner.
