Hire Competencies, Not CVs

Published
The smaller the team (company), the more important it is to get hiring right. In addition to direct recruitment and training costs for the new employee, many monthly salaries are lost until the recruit has learned to perform satisfactorily. Around 30% of new recruitments fail to do this and/or leaves early, resulting in the need to recruit yet another with many more lost monthly salaries and new recruitment costs and risks (see webinar “Engagement for Retention & Performance” (April 5), prof. Rikard Larsson from Decision Dynamics).

The majority of “traditional” recruitment processes either go through candidate CV selection “by hand” – usually done by a junior professional and/or by an ATS (Applicant Tracking System) that allows for keyword scanning and comparing. Both methodologies have their flaws… none of them gets it fully right – but for different reasons.

So, how do you get hiring right? Can you get to 0% personnel turnover with fully engaged high performers? Or is that utopia?

Sandra Bichl from Career Angels and prof. Rikard Larsson from Decision Dynamics invite you to join the live, interactive 45-min lunch-break webinar “Hire Competencies, not CVs” that look at:
- a competency model based on Career Motivators
- how to ask better recruitment questions (for both sides – candidates and employers)
- adapting roles (job crafting) early on, for the candidate to feel engaged and to perform
- how to scientifically assess a candidate’s “match” between them and the role
