I hate to say it, but most people are unprepared for their job search. They think the only thing they need to start applying to jobs is a resume and that's it.

But there's more to it than that. You actually need several things in order to have a successful job search and to land quality job offers and interviews. A resume is just a piece of the puzzle - there's so much more to a job search than a resume.

Not having the proper materials during your job search has consequences, including:

- Having trouble landing interviews
- Wasting time interviewing with the wrong companies
- Having to stop your job search to prepare materials on a whim
- Accepting low salary offers when you deserve more
