NEW BERN, Craven County — A World War II veteran is celebrating his 99th Birthday this Memorial Day.
To help, the community surprised him with a parade in New Bern.
Veteran Bill Crawford said it’s been a weekend of celebration as he welcomes another year, but the parade may have taken the cake for birthday surprises.
