Employee Reviews: "Horrid" Management At Experity - I Was Refused Reread Of Misdiagnosed X-Ray

Published
I share employee reviews around the internet from those who have claimed to work with Experity, who provides services to more 5,700+ urgent care practices across the USA. Employee reviews confirm "horrid" management staff. After my own experience as a misdiagnosed patient, I found some elements of corruption may exist there, the company is difficult to communicate with. I noticed very unusual names and similar sounding voices. They do not return promised phone calls.

According to Bloomberg, Experity recently changed ownership in March, 2022 (involving Warburg Pincus & GTCR) in a deal possibly valued at around $1 billion dollars.

I was a misdiagnosed patient who had an x-ray misread by Dr. Ana Maria Echenique M.D., who worked for Experity. My injury was a broken basilar skull / head trauma. I called Experity in early April, 2022 to have it possibly reread. Nurse Marjorie Freistler (Experity) had me give her access to old medical images from the urgent care clinic AFC (American Family Care), with the understanding by me that it was going to be reread for me. I gave permission to get the records. Was told I would be called repeatedly. My calls were never returned. When I called back a week later I was told Experity mangaement made a decision that reread request could not be honored. Possibly a HIPAA concern.

My April 11 phone call to Experity Teleradiology. Following being told on April 5th that my misdiagnosed X-Ray records were going to be made available to Experity, HIPAA issues have now emerged as I am told Experity management have decided they will not honor my request to have the scan re-examined because I paid $175 in 2019, later learned I had a very serious broken skull head trauma / infection-based injury and I was told in the original scan (by doctors and nurses) that no injury appear. In the disputed X-Rays themselves, evidence of this injury can be seen. The understanding was the results of the 2022 reread were going to be shared with me. I did not give Experity permission to access my health records for any other reason.

I am then told management will call me back shortly after my 1pm CDT call was placed. This call never came, I was told many times dealing with Experity over the last week they would call me and even given a commitment as to the time / date and this was not fulfilled.

Previous to this, on April 1st I called this company and was told I would be contacted on Saturday, April 2nd. By Tuesday, with no update, I tried to contact Doctor Ana Maria Echenique M.D. again through Experity. Here I give an introduction of my situation and excerpts from my 4/5/22 call with "Marjorie" (possibly Nurse Marjorie Freisthler APRN-CNP who is listed as working with Experity). She tells me the situation has changed due to "management stepping in". Now, she says, she will have to contact AFC (American Family Care / Urgent Care) where I had the scan done and arrange something that "will only take a second" before they can re-analyze the X-Ray. I am then transferred to "Prince" at AFC.

After being transferred to Prince the first time, Marjorie never returned to the line to arrange whatever they needed (records or approval) (it was not made clear). She says she will need to contact AFC again and speak with "The Provider". I am then informed image records can not be found. At this point I offer to supply my own records that were given to me in 2019 by AFC. I was told by Marjorie they will have to "go through" AFC.

Despite Experity's claims of lightning fast turnaround times, almost 7 days later, has not been resolved.

I was a 2019 patient, I had broken skull bone and head trauma, misdiagnosed for about a year prior to this scan. Infection, CSF fluid and parasites filled this wound. Appears in these X-Ray images as 3 inch diameter translucent oval between skull and cervical areas.

This video focuses on American Family Care (afc Parkway) and Doctors Ana Maria Echenique M.D. (Experity Teleradiology). I received an X-ray here that was misdiagnosed and referred onward to a neurologist (Kyle Hudgens / Grandview Neurology) and orthopedic doctor (Perry L. Savage Sr. / OrthoAlabama Spine & Sports) (but was told the x-ray showed normal, no injuries) that led to referrals to doctors who would not acknowledge my injury and a $600 fee. At the same time I was chasing my tail on this thing, I was dying from a massive infection and parasite infestation the doctors were telling me was not there.

I believe I may have been "patient dumped" (a violation of EMTALA in hospitals) in the course of my seeking treatment for my injury. This pronouncement made it virtually impossible to get an accurate diagnosis elsewhere. I was also disabled and could not claim disability. My psychological state was routinely challenged because I claimed the doctors had missed the main injury. My concerns were unfairly dismissed and ignored.
