Employee or Independent Contractor: What's the Difference?

A few years ago, the California Supreme Court rewrote the independent contractor test and codified the new ABC test

The ABC test is a 3 prong test now to help you decide:
1. How much control does the employer exert over the worker?
2. Is the work that is being performed in the usual scope of the employer's business?
3. Is this the type of work that is usually done by an independent contractor?
