The prime minister has announced new relaxations on COVID testing rules to ease pressure on a system that he calls frustrating and disruptive.

As of now, you no longer need a PCR test to confirm that you have COVID if a rapid test says you do.

Those rapid tests will now be given to some 6 million Australians capped at 10 each. But, they won't be handed out to everyone. And as cases surge beyond 35,000 in NSW we're told that RAT shortages will last a few weeks yet.
