Career and Job Search Advice Misleads Underrepresented Job Seekers. As an underrepresented job seeker, minority, Black, brown or Indigenous professional, it can be difficult to find job search and career advice that recognizes your unique perspective. As a result, it’s important to understand that a lot of the mainstream and general career advice offered, might not really apply to you.
Your experience as an underrepresented job seeker brings additional complexity that’s not always acknowledged. In your job search and career you are likely to face bias and discrimination, though these topics are rarely discussed.

I want to help you get the job of your dreams, no matter your race or where you’re from. I know first-hand that racism shows up in the workplace in lots of ways. It’s the hiring manager who uses the n-word. It’s the colleagues who make off-colour remarks. It’s those vague but powerful prejudices that run like currents below the surface of office politics.
It's wrong. But so is perpetuating the dishonesty that bias is history. So I’ve taken everything from my personal and professional experiences to create content that confronts bias head-on, to empower underrepresented professionals and BIPOC people.
I’m an award-winning University Instructor, MBA, Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) and Senior Certified Human Resources Professional (SHRM-SCP) with over 15 years' professional Human Resources experience.
