3News' Russ Mitchell moderates virtual Cleveland mayoral town hall with Justin Bibb and Kevin Kelley

With three weeks to go until the city of Cleveland selects a new mayor, the two candidates will take part in a town hall event tonight.

3News anchor and managing editor Russ Mitchell will moderate the virtual "Cleveland Town Hall," featuring mayoral candidates Justin Bibb and Kevin Kelley. The event is being presented by the Cleveland Branch of the NAACP and the Urban League of Greater Cleveland and will take place at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.

Mitchell will serve as moderator in front of a small, socially distanced audience for the town hall.

“Although the Urban League is non-partisan, we believe it's our obligation to provide informational platforms and activities for our mayoral candidates to share their plans for the City of Cleveland at such a critical time as this,” said Marsha Mockabee, ULGC President and CEO in a statement.

“We are committed to increasing voter turnout and promoting robust civic engagement, and we believe these forums are one way for us to do that. This is one part of a larger body of work that we have been champions of since our inception," added NAACP Cleveland Branch President Danielle Sydnor.
