2021 11 29 12 30 DDA Self Directed Services SDS Family As Staff and Participant Agreement

Published
The Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) supports participants rights to self-determination and choice to self-direct their services. Self-determination means making your own choices, learning to effectively solve problems, and taking control and responsibility for one's life.

Self-direction gives the participant the freedom to choose the services and supports they need to live independently and be an active member of their community. The core functions of self-direction are choice and control over how services are provided, and who is hired and being paid to provide these services. This includes the option to hire family as staff.

This webinar is presented by Rhonda Workman, DDA Director of Federal Programs.
