The government has introduced a number of measures to incentivise employers to recruit young workers. The government will pay the wages of young employees for the first 6 months of employment. Employers will be able to top up that payment if they wish. The government payments will also include national insurance and pension contributions. The first placements are expected to be available from November but the application process is open now. The scheme is available in England, Scotland and Wales and is available to any organisation regardless of size.
