This involves developing and implementing strategies to mitigate exposure to fraud risk, including facilitating, designing and developing organisational capability, throughout investigations, assessing, claims, sales, underwriting or back-office functions including supplier and procurement risk. You will be responsible for efficiently implementing fraud detection systems, focused on providing a great customer experience while minimising non-justified claims. Our ideal candidate will bring both operational and people management experience and an ability to provide strategic advice and protective frameworks through collaborative engagement. To be successful, you will have at least 10 years' experience in fraud management or financial crimes experience. You will have extensive experience in assessing and recommending process, policy and system improvements to meet evolving insurance fraud and non-justified claims risk. Previous experience implementing fraud identification systems and integrating those systems with insurance claims systems is desirable.

Insurance claims handler

Insurance claims handlers ensure that claims made on insurance policies are dealt with efficiently and that payment for valid claims is made to policyholders. As an insurance claims handler, you'll be involved in managing a claim from the start through to settlement, making decisions on the extent and validity of a claim, and checking for any potential fraudulent activity. You'll coordinate services that may be required by policyholders following an accident or incident. This can include organising approved tradespeople to make homes safe again or ordering replacement goods if a policyholder has been burgled. You may be involved in large-scale accidents and incidents, for example a bridge collapse. As well as communicating with policyholders, you'll also liaise with external experts such as loss adjusters and lawyers. Work on complex cases requires experience and expert knowledge. At this stage, you may become involved in loss adjusting activities investigating the loss or in legal discussions about the recovery of money from the party responsible for the loss. Salaries vary depending on a range of factors including your experience, skills and professional qualifications, the type of insurance you're working in, the size of your employer, the sector and location.

Based in Kings Hill, you will be handling inbound and outbound calls, assessing new claims and collecting accurate information and necessary documentation to proceed with a claim. You will also be guiding policyholders on how to proceed with the claim and keeping them informed at all times both verbally and in writing, so excellent customer service skills is a must for this role! As well as this you will be; assessing medical information and reviewing complex medical histories, ensuring prompt and accurate payment of valid claims, assisting policyholders with general queries, writing clear and accurate non-standard letters where claim circumstances require it, ensuring system records are kept up to date and that claim activity is recorded accurately, adhering to legal requirements, industry regulations and quality standards set by the company and identifying potential fraudulent claims and following the agreed processes for referral.
