We are proud to serve our community of businesses and apprentices, see what they have to say about us below. There is a lot of guidance for apprentices for example the progress reviews with your mentor and Evolve to run through progress, set targets and measure performance. I came into this apprenticeship knowing barely anything about construction and now I have become a valuable member of my team at Mace which has therefore enabled me to obtain a permanent position.

This will entail a continuation of my studies towards a Quantity Surveying degree at London South Bank University all funded by Mace along with a competitive salary and many benefits. Evolve have been the stepping-stone which has enabled me to get an opportunity to reach my potential and have supported me all the way through my apprenticeship which has definitely helped me to gain my permanent position.

I would fully recommend Evolve if you are interested in pursuing a career in all elements of construction as it is such a great way to start your career. Together we have employed apprentices in trades and site management, a number of whom have gone on to work for us on a permanent basis following the successful completion of their apprenticeships, an indication of the quality of candidates that we have received from Evolve.

Clarion Housing has been involved with Evolve apprentices since it began in We have enjoyed an excellent relationship that has enabled our residents to access apprenticeship opportunities, and to further their careers. Question 1: What made you interested in the Level 3 Construction Contracting Operations apprenticeship and was it what you expected? I come from a family who has worked in construction and a grandfather who told me stories about his experiences in the industry. I applied for the operations apprenticeship as I found the role interesting while also offering future opportunities into different or higher qualifications in the industry.

The industry has changed from when my grandad was working in construction and I found it even better than expected. My host contractor and apprenticeship supervisors kept me busy, challenged me daily and were always there to help and support me during my time on-site.

Question 2: How has it been doing your apprenticeship through Evolve Apprentices as part of the Shared Apprenticeship Scheme? I found it exciting working on different construction sites, with different teams and different supervisors in the shared apprenticeship scheme. I enjoyed working with new people on-site and gaining different perspectives on the site operations role and how the various responsibilities can be handled.

Evolve Apprentices have been supportive throughout the entire apprenticeship and I am grateful for the opportunity to receive a wage while gaining a qualification and on-site experience. Chris, my apprenticeship coordinator, not only mentored me throughout my apprenticeship but was also actively working with me to seek employment once my apprenticeship was complete, which I appreciated.

As I write this, I am currently looking for my next employment opportunity. I would like to put the experience and qualifications I have completed to good use and gain further employment in the construction industry, where I can keep learning and advancing in my chosen career while working on-site in a role I enjoy.

I have enjoyed the experience of becoming qualified while working on-site and being able to apply what I am learning and being taught into my daily role. Apprenticeships are work based training and are described as an 'earn as you learn' scheme. The Government have invested great amounts of capital into promoting the merits of apprenticeships and have made it integral to employers when they are looking to recruit new employees. The Government has established an agreed pay structure for people successfully gaining an apprenticeship.
