Anaerobic Digestion Plant Manager - Norfolk
We are looking to recruit a Anaerobic Digestion Plant Supervisor to work in a hands-on and varied operational role at our AD plant in Halstead which converts organic waste into biogas to generate green electricity. This role will deputise to the Plant Manager in running day-to-day operations in the plant.
Our operators will be essential for promoting good working practices and positive relations between staff, the local community and external regulatory bodies.
You will deputise for the Plant Manager and manage the plant in the Manager's absence, assisting in the management of the plant team. The successful candidate will be required to work in all areas of the operation assisting their colleagues where necessary.
This position is varied and every day may present different challenges to maximising biogas production. Alongside previous mechanical or electrical engineering skills or experience, previous experience of operating mobile plant machinery such as a telehandler or loading shovel would be highly desirable but is not essential as full training will be provided.
AD is a new and fast expanding sector in the UK and Tamar Energy is looking to develop its Operators to help us to achieve our ambitious goals to be the UK leader in this sector.

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining the anaerobic digestion treatment and gas generation plant. AD provides renewable long term, sustainable energy profits and jobs directly in the local community. AD is a form of power generation using the breakdown of organic matter under controlled conditions. The organic matter can come from a variety of sources such as human excreta, manure, animal slurry, fruit and vegetable waste, slaughterhouse waste, meat packing waste, dairy factory waste, or from specifically grown plant matter biomass such as silage or maize stalks. The bi-product of the process is a high-grade saleable non-chemically produced fertilizer.
