I continually seek out opportunities to be more involved with campus activities, and hope to contribute to the well-being of the university by participating in Staff Senate.

She recently moved here after spending 6 cold but wonderful years in Madison, Wisconsin. Emily is the secondary Spanish-speaking contact in the office. Throughout her time in higher education, Emily has served in numerous roles and has worked in a variety of units that specifically focus on diversity, social justice, equity, retention, and educational policy.

During her spare time, Emily enjoys reading, traveling, playing Ultimate Frisbee, board game nights with friends, as well as spending time with her partner and their dog, Monroe.

Holly Shriner Academic Graduate Admissions Coordinator Graduate Studies Holly Shriner works as the Graduate Admissions Coordinator in Graduate Admissions, administering applications and prospective student process for graduate programs on the Lawrence and Edwards Campus and assists with the development and implementation of a strategic plan to provide graduate programs with resources to recruit and admit graduate students.

She received her BS in Journalism from KU in and was a newspaper reporter and then a magazine editor, communications director and marketing communications coordinator for a national trade association for auctioneers and a biological sciences company. My first foray into Unclassified Staff Senate was the following year when I volunteered to serve on the Public Relations Committee; that experience prompted me to run and serve as an Academic Senator of Unclassified Senate from until today. University Senate has given me a better understanding of issues not only affecting staff at KU but our institution as a whole.

I would like to continue serving on Staff Senate to both collaborate with other colleagues at KU and to represent their needs and interests within University Governance. Most recently, Michael completed a Master of Social Work degree at the University of Kansas, graduating at the top of his class.

His research and practice interests involve issues related to sexual and intimate partner violence. Colleges and universities are called upon to be better prepared to respond in appropriate and immediate ways to complaints of sexual violence in accordance with the law and their internal policies.

Achieving this imperative is a complex and evolving process replete with needs for crisis and conflict management as well as concerted and sustained efforts based in best practice. In his role, Michael operates with the premise that the political and policy context of macro practice exists at the convergence of unique problems, populations, and communities and organizations.

More specifically, Michael is skilled at assessing and responding to the ways that planned change can be effected at the level of policy and planning, and how these contexts supply the broader framework for which the problems associated with sexual violence may be systematically addressed to create positive outcomes for all members of the larger community.

Recognizing the critical task of understanding the extent to which the needs of community members are being addressed and which needs are currently unmet, Michael finds it critical when implementing any solution that the solutions reflect a deep understanding of the people involved and also afford for the ongoing capacity to build on community strengths. Michael believes that a broader-based and boundary-spanning approach is positioned to help manage increasingly complex systems of care, and manage these systems with a greater capacity for individual creativity and opportunity for advocacy.

With less and less time to carry out interventions, less funding, and less support in general, this type of boundary-spanning role adopts the strongest elements from both direct and organizational practice and essentially crosses boundaries that have long constrained the various levels of service delivery. Which would seem to imply that I am around 30 years old. After a year back at the University of Louisville in a staff position I was very happy to return to KU as an Admissions Specialist with International Recruitment and Undergraduate Admissions.

My hobbies include travel, textile arts, small dogs, and enjoying nature. Looking to get involved and find out more about life around KU campus and the people that make it great! While with at the School of Business for 13 years I was a member of the Social Committee twice and the Green Team working on sustainability.

I have served on the Calendar committee. I also served on Staff Senate for 4 years while with them I severed on the University Senate and held the title of Secretary for the Staff Senate my last year before it combine into one senate. Sitting in on that meeting sparked my interest in other University governance, so I would like to nominate myself for Senate position.

Thank you for your time and consideration. I spent the first seven in the Undergraduate Advising Center and have worked nearly three years now in the School of Engineering. I have made it a point in my time at KU to be involved across campus and work to make KU a great place to be. I appreciate the nomination and would be honored to serve on KU Staff Senate again. After graduation, I decided to continue working for KU in the Aerospace Engineering Department as an adminstrative assistant. My job in EECS mainly consist of undergraduate advising and enrollment.

I've enjoyed every moment at KU being a student and a staff member. I have worked for KU since the fall of The first year, I helped with the Legislations sub-committee. I want to be invloved in up coming important issues like diversity, weapons safety and tobacco on campus along with any other topics that may arise for employees. I believe the Staff Senate tries to be a good representation of all staff. While working on Senate committies, I have met several employees across campus that I would never have met, if not involved with Senate.

I would like to be re-elected to Staff Senate, to continue helping my fellow employees with any campus related issues. Staff Senate has provided me with opportunities to network with other professionals while learning about KU government. I am particularly interested in running for a position in the newly formed Diversity and Inclusion Committee and feel I have much to contribute to the committee and the Senate in general.

I have a beautiful 6 month old daughter named Emma, who I hope to one day be a Jayhawk. My interest in getting involved with the Staff Senate stems from my interest to get to know the University in greater depth, and would like a chance to network with different KU staff.

I would love a chance to get involved and hopefully make a difference for the rest of KU's staff. I'm continually discovering new reasons KU is the place to be. I enjoy working in an academic library and thoroughly appreciate all of the professional development opportunities made available to us at KU.

As a graduate of KU and as a former teacher for the Leavenworth School District, I have first-hand experience dealing with the challenges facing K and higher education. If re-elected as a senator, I will continue to work diligently to represent the needs of the staff and voice their concerns to the governing body.

I believe the privilege of working with Staff Senate would provide a unique exposure to other staff members and their concerns and a chance to advocate on their behalf. I started working in HR 9 years ago. My desire to work in HR started because I want to help make organizations better by taking care of their employees. I know that being on the Staff Senate will provide me the opportunity to influence how the University takes care of its employees.
