My division was a new setup and was wound up after about 3 years due to difficulty of entering the DD service market. Thus, hard for me to make a meaningful review as this division no longer exists within the corporation.
Pros Salary and Benefits. Cons Irregular work. Worked offshore. Very busy, was an amazing job until oilfield crashed. That's all I really have to say but this is making me type more just to get back to job searching. Excellent employment with great company values.
Currently I am responsible for multi-million dollar equipment that carries out the heart and soul of drilling operations onboard. I oversee work areas that encompasses several different operations. I am held responsible for the delegation of tasks to members on the drilling crew and their production throughout the process. I enjoy every aspect of my job.
I believe the hardest part of my career so far has been the absence from my home life however it has afforded my family the luxuries I had never known. Pros Quanity and quality of time at home. It was fun but hard work. It was like having two families, because you were out there on the rig as much as you were home. We had fun we made work fun while we were at work and at the same time we did our jobs safely and efficiently. Pros We had good cooks. Cons We had to stay out there 28 days at a time.
Good company to work for. Great company and people to work with. Hardest part of job is missing family while at work. Most enjoyable part of job is meeting and working with many different people of all walks of life. Maersk purport to have the welfare of there employees but, do not and if at any time an employee questions HR they are released from contract.
